Stan launches ad-supported Basic plan
Stan's Basic entertainment plan has been replaced by Basic with Ads. Advertising may now appear before and during movies and television programs, while Standard and Premium remain available as ad-free options.

Stan has introduced Basic with Ads as its entry-level entertainment plan. Advertising may appear before and during movies and television programs.
Standard and Premium remain available as ad-free entertainment plans.
Gambling advertising controls
Stan does not currently provide controls to hide or reduce gambling advertising should it be shown on the ad-supported plan. The only way to avoid advertising during on-demand entertainment is to subscribe to an ad-free plan.

AdControl.au launches

About the launch
AdControl.au launched on 4 July 2026 to make it easier for Australians to understand which streaming services show gambling advertising and what controls are available.
The initial version brought information from major Australian streaming services into one independent, easy-to-use resource.
Why AdControl was created
Information about gambling advertising controls was often difficult to find and spread across different streaming-service settings, policies and support pages.
AdControl brings this information together so people can compare services and follow the available steps.
